Come and stay with us in our peaceful B n B accommodation at Stewart Island Lodge.
Private and secluded, Stewart Island Lodge is a wonderful place to relax in great comfort while providing a base for your island exploration.
The lodge has sweeping views of Halfmoon Bay and the ocean beyond. Its grounds are home to many native birds including kaka (native parrots).
Stewart Island is located at the southern tip of New Zealand, and is easily accessible by Stewart Island Experience ferry from Bluff to Oban (1 hour) and by small plane from Invercargill Airport (20 minutes).
Stewart Island Lodge is just a short 5 minute stroll from the main wharf, where the ferry departs and arrives from. We will pick you up on arrival at Stewart Island.
Since the epic swim of John van Leeuwen in 1963 only four others have officially swum Foveaux Strait.
The record holder is Southlander Todd Utteridge, who completed the swim in 8 hours 40 minutes in 1989.
